All porous materials & wood & pretty much every element other than gemstones used are sealed & nontoxic to avoid harboring moisture & bacteria & for easy cleanup. Turn time can vary based on theme, size, special order products, air out & dry times & my workload. 

I recommend wiping all surfaces accessible with a damp paper towel or Q-tip with water  once received & for normal maintenance.
